I have a vintage 50 watt Traynor amplifier that I am running thru two 8 ohm 100 watt speaker cabinets the cabinets are configured to be used with specific guitars or to be run together as they are now .........I would like the ability to use the cabs individually or together............there is one guitar stomp box manufacturer that does build a switcher for this purpose, but I don't want to spend 300.00 for one of these.......

My question is would one of these niles switchers be suitable without causing any potential damage to the amp.............thanx

If you use a Niles speaker switcher make sure that the "protection" is off. This inserts resistors to maintain the imedance and keep the amp happy. Since your amp is OK with both anyway the resistors will only cause heat and might blow out since the switcher is designed for low level music rather than peak level guitar. Make sure its rated for 100 watts rms.
