I have a Dell 1501 running Vista, It has AMD Turion 64 x2 1.6 ghz, and Crucial 2GB DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) of ram which I put in that helped a little but this thing still runs slower than it should. Is there anything else that can be done to speed it up.

Thanks.

Well, laptops usually have really slow HDDs (5400rpm) to save battery life and HDD speed affects A LOT when it comes to booting. Also this is for desktops and may or may not apply to laptops, but OEMs have the tendency of using DDR2 533 or DDR2 667 on AMD chips which are known to take a big performance hit when paired with memory slower than DDR2 800.

Check this out. All of a sudden my 1501 started running real slow. After a few hours of troubleshooting. I took out the battery and rebooted with it plugged into A/C. If fixed it. Is that not crazy. Buy Mac's
