DVD player problem, it says its a ata66

ok my cuz sisters dvd writer stoped working all of a sudden, its a liteon SOHW-1633S.

As i was checking it over i noticed that there was power going to it i can insert dvds cds etc but it would not recognise any disks at all, i then checked in bios that it siad ata 66 not 33 is this dvd writer finished game over cant do sh!t about it?

yes my own computer a nforce 2 motherboard, my cuz sisters which i just made is a nforce 4 abit the one below fatality version, (fatality is a rip off) venice core 3200.

it still dont work properly.

when i insert a cd its like the cdrom is earching for the media making variuos startup noises, and then just stops.
