I'm in the market for a display in the 24" range with a native res of 1920x1200, low lag times, good color gamut, deep blacks, and minimal ghosting. Also I'm new to LCD shopping, so I'm sure there will be other image quality measures that I'm not aware of but that I'd appreciate being notified about, so that I'm not pissed off because the display that I chose not knowing about them looks like crap. 1:1 pixel ratio would be nice, too, but if not it can stay unscaled when dropping res. Viewing angle is also good, but the color requirements should weed out most of the TN stuff anyway. As you can probably guess, this is geared mostly towards PC gaming, although good video quality is desirable, too. Plenty of time will be spent surfing on it as well, but I'm not so worried about optimizing for that. Wouldn't mind some ergo adjustments but I can compensate for that in other ways, and as far as ports I need 1 DVI port, probably won't have use for anything else. Not too worried about price (although medical-grade can be considered off-limits).
I'm also looking at 22" options, most notably the Lenovo L220x so far, and have spent plenty of time on a 17" notebook screen at 1920x1200 so am not worried about it being too small for the resolution. I'd also be happy to go up to 27" (or anywhere in between), so long as I can avoid paying an arm and a leg and will actually gain benefits vis-à-vis the above variables. What I'm looking for here is maximum image quality while still meeting gaming needs, and I'm assuming that going bigger will just tag on more and more lag time.
Suggestions?
P.S. My desk is more than 6 inches deep, my back is fine, I prefer the form of my electronics to follow the function, and I'd love to be able to pay less for a CRT that would perform better on half this stuff and not even be limited by the other half (i.e. lag, ghosting). As far as I can tell the mainstream market has made flat-panels so universal that I don't have this option. Please tell me if I'm wrong.
