What is the current Bose clone that is closest in quality but at a better price?

Why would you want a bose clone is the question? I'm no expert, but scanning forums it seems most audiophiles have zero respect for bose. I think the saying goes... No highs, No Lows, must be Bose. I only remember going into one of their stores and being highly unimpressed with what I heard...but anything sold by informercial is generally crap.

The thing to keep in mind about Bose is they are in the industry of making big sound out of a small footprint. For the most part they are pretty successful. The Bose high performance systems for musicians are actually quite amazing. The kicker really is the price, Bose systems as far as I'm concerned are way over priced. You can find many systems that exceed the Bose systems at a fraction of the cost. Look at Mackie and/or JBL.
