Which burner is better, Plextor PX-716SA (SATA) or LiteON-SOHW 1693S? Basically, which one's more reliable and deal better with ... errr, "backing things up"? I know, it's not an easy question to answer, I'd appreciate any advise.

most will probley say plextor... just like most kids choose Intel over AMD and no nothing about cpu's....... i will say LiteON... have 3 of them they all work excellent. Plus you can't beat there price.. it's rediculous.. dvd burners for 50$ lol cd-burners 52x for like 15$ lol

My lite on dvd rom has a hard time reading some dvd+disc. I say for a burner plextor all the way. If you want the best of both worlds get a liteon dvd rom, and the plextor burner.

like just stated above, everyone has there own thing to say about each. I have 3 liteons so OBVIOUSLY im gonna put my vote on Liteon. Most who have plextor will obviously say plextor.

In general they are both extremely well. Plextor is just alittle more pricier and for money issues, liteon is your guy. Some say the speeds performance is better on somethings in plextor well i wouldn't know .. only by reading some reviews. Im sure it's by seconds and it's probley not noticeable unless your using a timer to calculate the time on each burn. other then that which ever you think is more affordable or looks better it's your choice...

i think we can all say.. Liteon and Plextor are BOTH excellent drives.
