Hi!

I am currently using W2k Professional. Recently, I GHOST the old harddisk into a new one because of space shortgage. However, I am now having problem going into the W2k. An error dialog saying that I am running short of disk space and asking me to increase the Page File size.

Problem : The system doesn't go pass the login stage. It just hang at the dialog box with only a OK button. It is very frustrating..

Would appreciate any comments or help.

Did you remove the old HDD after Ghosting the image to the new drive?
That could be your problem as Windows won't boot if you don't.

<b><font color=green>Smile and everyone will wonder what you have been up to.

Yes I did. The old hd is removed and new one is inserted.

Strangest thing is that both the old and new harddisk got this problem. Initially suspected error occured during the Ghosting of the hd. But confirmed it was not. Now really puzzled.

Is there an alternative to get into W2k? Even in SAFE mode, I cannot reach the DESKTOP to rectify the error as recommended.

Thanks.

Thats a strange problem, but there is a way to delete files (I guess thats what you want, right?)
1) Insert your Win2k cd into the cd rom
2) make sure in ur bios that the cdrom is booted first in the order
3) When the blue setup screen appears, it says "PRESS R TO REPAIR", press R
4) Next screen should say something like "To enter CONSOLE, PRESS C" press C
5) You enter an enviroment thats very much like MSDOS. there you can delete files and scandisk. type HELP for commands if you dont know them. good luck
