I have a 108 and it's been rock solid. I've never recorded a bad disk yet. I bought a 109 a couple of weeks ago for my friend's build, but I only burned 1 DVD with it to show him how to use it. Seems just as good. Really I don't think you can go wrong.

I just bought one about three weeks ago and I really like it. Good clean burns. It does seem like it rips DVDs more slowly than my other DVD drive (read-only).

BTW, Pioneer's website has a neat app that quiets the drive while reading cd's and dvd's. Look forward to trying it out.

Make sure you get the firmware update from the Pioneer website.
