more win2k weirdness....

ok...so i got pissed at my computer and deleted all the partitions and started over (whoops, hehe). So I've now installed win2k again but here is the weird part...

I HAVE NO UPDATES TO DO!!!

I go to the MS website and it says there are no updates for me and from past experience I know I should be doing the download, install, reboot sequence about a billion times. Anyone know wtf is going on???? thanks.

You might have a damaged ActiveX control. Look in the WINNT\Downloaded Program Files Folder, and check the status of the Update Class program file. You might have to delete it, clear the Temporary Internet Files, and then go back to Windows Update.

This could be an issue:

You could also try downloading the updates from one of these sites:

Of course, you can always get Service Pack 3 <A HREF="http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp3/default.asp" target="_new">here</A>, which will take care of nearly everything, I should think.

well, I'll take this into consideration if the problem happens again BUT.... my hd has some problems so it's in the process of being RMAed so my home pc will be out of commission for a week or so. thanks for the help though.
