I have attempted to get a start answer from Aten USA and Taiwan; my question has as yet gone unanswered

I have just recently replaced a 4 port Cybex SwitchView with an Aten CS1762 unit. I am very impressed with the build quality and thoroughness of the package.

I have a question.

I am using the Aten's micphone in and line output sockets to connect the front and rear channel line outputs of a Creative Lab Audigy 2 ZS and Sound

Blaster Live sound cards with my Logitech 4.1 speakers for surround sound.

Is the mic in on a KVM just as pass through or can using mic in as a line out be detrimental to the Aten unit or speaker?
