How often do Dell XPS's go on sale?

I recently subscribed to "Dell Direct" email and shortly received the notification for the $200 off Memorial Day sale for the XPS's. I almost bit but didn't and part of me regrets it. Now I see for the base XPS410 price of $899, they now offer two gig of ram versus one gig previously. That along with a 4% work discount, makes an XPS purchase for me almost as cheap as the same configuration for the Memorial Day sale as I had upgraded to the two gig for that sale. I am wondering if I should bite now or is it highly likely within say the next two months, the XPS's will go on sale again and be even a better bargain because the base configuration includes two gig of ram.

Also one of the reasons for wishing to buy a Dell is the 0 percent interest financing for 12 months, does that generally happen a lot as well?

Dell has sales and special pricing all the time. You can find 0% for 18 months, $350 off and even get an extra 2,3 or 4% using thier financing.
One thing to know is that they have some of the the highest interest rates going, so not paying it off before the 12 or 18 months is up can cost you big.
You can also call and generally get a better "deal" than you find on the net.
You can check sites like this to find "deals", pretty much weekly.

Another option, if you don't need a monitor, is the Dell Outlet.

Thanks for the links although I must say I'm not at all impressed with the Dell outlet prices. I was looking at some of the XPS410 systems and many of them are priced nearly as high if not higher then configuring a new system, especially when considering most of the refurbs only have 1gig of memory while the new XPS now comes standard with 2.

A couple of things about the Outlet
1. The stock generally changes hourly during the business day.Usually around 20 and 40 minutes past the hour.
2. Knowing the hardware that you want can make it easier to compare prices and find the deals. The idea is to find something at the Outlet and compare it, hardware wise, to the same configuration at Dell home.

I worked up an E6600 (2.4) 2g ram (standard), with dual opticals and an 8600GTS at Dell Home (no monitor) $1184.
Same config found at Outlet for $889, just moments ago.
If a $295 ( roughly 25% ) savings for the same system isn't impressive enough.........

Choosing DellUser1 as a name wasn't meant as a joke, I have provided many of my family members with Dell's and still have my XPS 410 sitting next to my custom box.
A total of 12 Dell's , all from the Outlet, at significant saving's. Not to mention the one's I have bought and sold at a profit.
I will admit that since the Intel price cuts, the deal's aren't as good as they used to be, but if you are considering buying a Dell, the Outlet is still a smarter option in my opinion.

Thanks again Dell User1. I didn't browse much thru the outlet but just looked at a few XPS Core2 systems of which most of them were configured pretty close to the standard offering and found that when I then went to the Dell regular site and configured an equal system, the prices were not all that different, usually less then a hundred dollars apart and then again the outlets only offering one meg of ram versus two for regular. And at least when I just looked, the XPS's (regular, not outlet) are still offering two gig of memory as standard.

I'll look around some more but most likely will wait until Dell offers another XPS sale. They have some nice Dimension sales right now but unfortunately I see with most configurations, they come with a monitor that you have no choice but to take and I don't need a monitor.

I'm not a Dell knocker either. Thru my work office and lab pcs, I know I have used at least ten different Dells the past year and none of them has failed on me yet.

A couple other places are http://www.dealfrogger.com, http://www.eagleideals.com and slickdeals.net. However slickdeals is mean so be careful if you post anything. I have had good luck with posting to dealfrogger.com and eagleideals.com.
