I prefer not to have a ridiculous case (read: don't like alienware) I like the M15 a lot but honestly the case is just too over the top
I'd like this thing not to be huge - i like having a laptop that I can carry around if I like, thus the smaller screen size
considering HP Envy
* • Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
* • Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-720QM Processor (1.6GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB)
* • 6GB DDR3 System Memory (3 Dimm)
* • 500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
* • 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 4830
* • 15.6" diagonal Full High Definition LED HP Ultra Brightview Widescreen Display (1920x1080)
* • Webcam Only
* • Intel Wireless-N Mini-card with Bluetooth
* • Envy Instant On Solution, Corel VideoStudio Pro X2, Corel Paintshop Pro X2, Stardock My Colors
* • HP Color Matching Keyboard
* • 6 Cell Lithium Ion Polymer Battery
* • No Productivity Software
Without a doubt go for SAGER NP8690,the HP envy is expensive and GTX 280M performs better than HD 4830.
About m15x,well the SAGER NP8690 has better specs,it has GTX 280M whereas the AW model has GTX 260M,here is a good site to buy the SAGER model:
http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np869 [...] -2659.html
Thanks I'll probably upgrade to 4GB RAM, HD Screen, and 500GB 7200RPM HD on that model bringing the total to 1837.18
One question, they have this 'dead pixel warranty' I refuse to pay $200 for such a thing but the fact that it is there really worries me. Do many people get these things with dead pixels?
If I go with a company like HP or Dell they don't seem to need the same kind of warranty on their hardware...
Well it depends on you,Sager screens are good.
Dead pixel policy is a good option but for $200 its hard to recommend it,i think you will be fine without it but if u want to be 100% sure about the pixels then go for it although its expensive
