That argument doesn't hold water. You can kill people lots of different ways. I could kill a person with my bare hands. It's not the method but the ease of which you can carry out the killings. If guns are arms and pipe bombs are arms then shouldn't pipe bombs be legal? What about ICBM's? You have to draw the line somewhere.

I'll quote the 2nd Amendment:
"A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

Basically, our forefathers wrote that in response to England's attempt to disarm the growing militia (army) in the colonies. We don't really need this amendment anymore. We have a well-armed army. Hell, it's the best one in the world.

Now I know all you hicks out there are going to get their panties in a bunch because you won't get to go out huntin' and killin' anymore if we take away the 2nd Amendment. So if you can take time out from chewin' tobacco or screwin' yer sister and listen for a minute I have a compromise. I'll draw a new line. Just get rid of the handguns. You can still have your guns for huntin' deer and other critters which shotguns and rifles are designed for. Handguns are designed to kill other people. They're easy to carry. They're easy to conceal. Their easy to draw.

Will that stop all gun crimes? Of course not. But, this way you can still have guns for hunting and sport without the handguns.

Funny thing, look at the Irish example: Imagine how much damage would have occured, how many would have died, had the guy used a pipe bomb! And yes, a guy that motivated to kill people WILL result to homemade explosives if he doesn't have any access to a gun. Guns don't creat crime, they just allow criminals to be lazier.

I agree with BigMac on this point. There is nothing a handgun can do that a rifle cant...apart from being easily concealable.
If the killer walked into the concert with a rifle he woulda been spotted and the police would probably have been called earlier. But with a hand gun no one was to know he was armed.

I disagree, whatever happened to metal detectors for major events like that, since 9/11 where I live there are metal detectors, and even a Glock has to have bullets, that cannot get past the metal detectors, no gun should be allowed in an event like that period, rifle or handgun so some officials have seriously dropped the ball on this one, and it will lead to mandatory metal detectors to screen major public events like this.

If a an intersection is deemed dangerous, they usually change them to make them safer. Cars are also built safer so that your likelihood of dying in an accident goes down. Furthermore, technology will someday eliminate human error which is the most frequent cause of traffic fatalities. You can't really do that with a gun unless someone was to produce non-lethal bullets. So your argument very weak.

I can choose not die from cigarettes and alcohol. If somebody points a gun at me and pulls the trigger, like what happened to Darrell Abbott. See above regarding the auto argument. All very weak arguments.

In fact there is a community less than 30 miles away from where I live that is called "Crackers Neck". The reason being that during the days when people were hanged there were two basic knots that were used to tie the noose. One would make the victim die a slower death by strangulation. The other would break the victims neck "Hence Crackers Neck" as soon as the horse ran out from under the person that was being hung. This community is in Jones County which was once know as the Free State of Jones. Someone from up north did a documentary on Crackers Neck years ago. There was only one minor flaw in their story. They took for granted since it was MISSISSIPPI that only black people were hung. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, some black people did die a terrible death in Crackers Neck, but it was mostly White People that were hung by the North for what they called an injustice. Not to forget that many times they would rape the wives of the Rebel soldiers while making them watch. Then hang the men and rape there wives again. You make me sick!
