Z-5500 settings

Hi Guys,

I am really an amateur when it comes to setting and understanding sound.
I was wondering if someone would like to help me out.

I have Logitech Z-5500 wired and Creative Xtreme music sound card.
I have good sound at the moment but I am sure I am not taking the best out of them.

I have many settings in the Creative Console Launcher that I have no idea what they are.

ez:

Bass Management (have no idea what it is)
SVM (still don't get it which is best on or off)

and

Dolby / DTS options

So many options and settings they drive me crazy.
I know to many questions I need answering so is there anywhere I could find and read to learn to tweak my system for better sound quality?
