It'd be nice to see a few kneeling leg sets in the regular tac squad
stuff too. (That's the nice part about the IG Hvy Weapons squads, if
you do it right, you end up with 3 kneeling leg sets when you're done
and can do your own snipers, or add them to the rank and file troops for
a bit of variety.)

I would guess that the kneeling legs, pointing PF, shorty waist towel,
etc. are all part of a new, expanded SM "squad options" sprue comparable
in size and scope to the SW sprue and the Command Squad sprue, and that
the new squad sprue will be bundled into the basic Tac, Dev, and Assault
boxes.

They are re-cutting the Tac spries, to make better use of them, and also
adding a few bits. Proably the same with the Devs and Assaults.

They haven't been redone. The sprues have been re-cut, meaning they have
been re-arranged and have had a few new bits added (all the special weapons,
back banner, hangers, etc). The devastator box will include the new sprue
which has straight legs and kneeling legs.

Some of the new bits in the devastators box (the partially bionic head) and
the assault box (the Storm Shield and powerfist) may be metal or might be
part of a new plastic sprue. It hasn't been confirmed yet.

I saw a photo of the new SM accessory sprue a couple of months ago,
and the kneeling legs are part of that sprue. There were also some
other new components on the sprue, but unfortunately I don't remember
what it was and I can't find that photo again. However, I am quite
certain there wasn't a power fist on that sprue.

One minor piece of good news: The number of marines you can
build from a tac box has been limited by the number of legs and with
an extra pair of legs on the new accessory sprue it will be possible
to build 11 marines instead of 10.

Presumably, with the trend towards plastic heavy weapons in other
ranges (IG, Eldar), the heavy weapons in this set will be plastics?

I quite like this - quite an unusual, dynamic pose for a mage. Not
quite sure about the hair or whatever the mage is holding up, though.

Does the accessory sprue have an extra backpack too? Even if it doesn't, a
backpack is usually easier to scrounge up in the bits box than an extra pair
of legs.

I don't remember if there was an extra backpack on the sprue
(probably not), but I do know that my bits box contains a few unused
backpacks.

Hard to say, but it would make sense. That said, aside from the added
Purity Seals on the Plasma Cannon, the weapons look like current metals.
Unless they're completely identical copies in plastic, I'd guess metal
at the moment.

No, they are still metal for now. An all plastic devastator set should be
out within the next two years though.
