One of my two hdd is 40GB and I'll be replacing it with another 250GB. I'd like to turn the 40GB hd into an external drive for backups. I'd like the interface to be FireWire. The hdd enclosure will also need to provide the power because my computer's power supply is maxed out. What hardware do I need to do this? I tried looking at newegg.com but I got confused after looking at so many different options! Your feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
AC

You need an enclosure that support firewire and external power supply. Bytecc has some.. google it
