What is the audio quality difference between Hardware DTS audio decoding (Say with X-Fi) vs Software Dolby DTS decoding (Say with PowerDVD decoding)?

Regardless to the CPU usage, what are the benefits with hardware DTS decoding? Will clarity difference be there with them?

Any one with any ideas?

Really, the only difference is CPU usage, and that hardware decoding should always work, regardless of software (IE, PowerDVD is useless for decoding 5.1 digital streams for gaming purposes)
