I have Win XP on my boot drive C: and a mirror back up drive D:.
Both drives are identical makes, model and capacity.
I want to boot off the XP installation disc, format C,and do a clean virgin
install on C.
What do I do with the other drive D, the back up mirror.
Disconnect the 12 volts to the disk?
Disconnect the data connection?
Leave it installed.
I have heard horror stories of installs somehow damaging a mirror drive if
left in the computer and connected.

Hi,
The horror stories are false, but there is sometimes a problem with drive
lettering. I would suggest that you disconnect the data and power leads,
then proceed with the clean installation. You can add the drive afterwards.
