If you have the factory restore cds that came with the computer then this should be fairly easy just put the cd in and restart the computer. You might have to enter the bios typically f2 however it should say and select the cd drive to boot up first over the hard the drive so it loads the cd before it loads windows that is already installed.

If you dont have the factory restore cds. Then you can still just install Windows 98 or XP and just select complete reformat during the set up. Just do the process as above to get the cd setup to load. \

If you dont have the factory restore cds or any Windows installation cds then you will probably have to just run through system restore if you have it turned on and go back in time to a specific day on your pc. Depending on what type of problems you are having or why you want to restore the settings just running through system restore can work fairly well. However a complete reformat is typically recommended especially if you have done that in a long time.
