My girlfriend has a HP Pavilion 7955 computer and monitor. When I plug the monitor into the PC the monitor goes into stand by and whenever I unplug the monitor from the PC, the monitor goes out of stand by.

(Monitor plugged in the PC light turns orange on monitor and wont turn on. When the monitor is not plugged in the PC, the light turns green and the monitor says something like, "Check Cable Connection" )

I tried plugging the monitor into another PC and I get the same problem.

I tried turning the monitor and PC on at different and random times and I got the monitor to turn on once but since then I was unable to get it to turn on. Any help would be great thanks!

The VGA cord is built into the monitor so I can't switch them to see if the cable is broken.

I found out the problem. I switched the mouse and the monitor works with no problem now! I put the old mouse back in the PC and the monitor went back to the same old problem. Strange!
