I want to do a system restore/fresh install on my Toshiba laptop (I don't see a sub-category for Toshiba). The problem is that the screen is broken so I use an external LCD as a monitor. I hooked it up to the external LCD before the screen was completely dead. I remember that it required me to change some settings. If I do a fresh install, those settings will be reset to the default, I assume, and that means I won't be able to see what's on the screen. I'm afraid that I won't be able to complete the fresh install because I wont be able to see anything. Any ideas?

It has Windows XP Home. The model is: Toshiba Satellite M55-S325. I hope I explained my question clearly. Here's a recap:

I want to do a fresh install on a laptop with a broken screen.
I use an external LCD.
I am afraid that if I do a fresh install the computer won't know to display on the external LCD, and I won't be able to configure it because the laptop's screen doesn't work.

Thanks in advance. If was not clear in my question don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks again!
