Hi,

I have 2 x Maxtor 120gig SATA (6Y120M0) drives in my machine (Abit IC7-G) on a RAID 0 through the in intel chipset (Intel 875 / ICH5 RAID) on my motherboard.

After booting up in to windows and loading a video file one of the HD's will begin to what sounds like turning off then turning on again in a loop for several seconds. During this time the cursor freezes along with the video.

Then the 'clicking' noise will stop and the video file will cary on playing for a few more minutes then the problem will loop again after a short while.

When i try and then shut down the machine will hang as it seems to be waiting for a response from the HD's.

This problem is a bit inconstant but does seem to be getting worse.

I ran the maxtor check program and it came up with no errors.

As these drive are on a RAID 0 i'm concerned for my data as i assume if one drives goes i loose all my data.

please help.

Whats the time Mr Wolf?

1st backup what you need NOW! heh
2nd try running a check disk. Also do you have a diagnostic tools too inspect your raid0?.

One of your drive is probably dying...
