Lost Audio/Volume icon from task bar.

following advice from a new antivirus/spyware program i deleted several files and unused programs. during that process i lost my audio program and the volume control icon. any suggestions for getting these back? thanks, jim

Go to microsoft update and scan for updates. Did you lose your sound as well?
