I have a Asus A7V333 MB with 512 MB PC2700 ram from Samsung. The timings are 2.5-3-3-6 (2.5-3-3-7 by SPD). Recently Samsung has stopped making PC2700 ram and I want to add another 512 MB. Should I spend the extra money for the Samsung ram or is it ok to buy a different brand that has the same timings??

Unless you want to replace all your memory with something different, I'd stick with Samsung.

Samsung almost always follows standard specification- and is considered by many to be the most solid memory brand.

The best match for Samsung would be either Micron or Infineon DDR333 CL2.5 modules.

Best to ask the vendor for "original", which comes with a module part number that can be verified on the vendors web page.
