how long can you wait? umm...correct me if i'm wrong (which i probably am, but...), isn't X-fi coming out soon? if you can wait it out, you can benefit from 1) price drops within weeks or even days, and 2) X-fi products if you're willing to pay for them. from what THG is saying about X-fi, it might be a worthwhile wait.

then again, i still don't really know when it's coming out...i dont trust that damn timer on the Sound Blaster site.

and to answer your question...that's a pretty good price for a ZS. in stores, it's still runs about $100, $80 if on sale.

I'm thinking about until September, so will there be anything better until then? (and not very expensive)

Is the Audigy 2 in that Link the Retail? or OEM? I can't tell.

I just bought new speakers (Logitech THX Z-5300e) which should arrive tomorrow.
That's why I want new sound card, currently I use onboard (sound Audio Chipset: Realtek ALC650, Audio Channels: 6 Channels)

Which is not bad, I've been told it is like an Audigy 1, but I want MORE power!!! and since the Speakers are THX, I want a card with THX.

Audigy 2 ZS is an excellent soundcard, and the price you're looking at is about half of what I paid for mine when it first came out, I'd say unless you can find a better deal at Newegg go for it, you won't be disapointed with the soundcard.

Audigy 2 ZS is way better than Audigy 1 was, I had an Audigy 1 it would develope cracking and popping sounds and the only thing that would resolve it was uninstall and reinstall the soundcard, which lasted 2 or 3 weeks and it started again, I've not the first time run into that problem with the Audigy 2 ZS, its crisp clear and powerful, its the soundcard Creative should have been putting out a long time ago!

I myself have been having problems with the Audigy 2 ZS. I actually made a post about the issues (which no one has help me with *sigh*) but it could possibly be just that one bad card, or it may not go well with my particular motherbaord.

so with that i'm probably going to end up getting the M-AUDIO REVOLUTION 7.1 PCI SOUND CARD. From the reviews i've seen its pretty much equal to the Audigy 2 ZS is every way. they say the Audigy is a bit better for gaming, but they also say the M-Audio is a bit better for Movie/THX surround sound. so its an either or. because i had particular problems with the audigy i'm getting the M-Audio.

but most ppl do like the creative lab cards so if its what you want you should definitly get it. but if you're not sure about creative labs, you can alwasys check out the M-Audio card for a back up.

Rest assured this will be an expensive card when released.

I have an M-Audio Delta 1010LT for my Mobile DJ program, this is a true stereo producing card and it is awesome, but you wouldn't need anything of that caliber for a desktop PC, for gaming and such as that, even though it is capable of reproducing surround sound also, thats not what it was bought for.

I brought it up because if M-Audios quality extends to the Revolution 7.1 and 5.1 cards they also will be awesome performers. Sorry to hear about your Audigy 2 ZS problems, what exactly is wrong?
