please help me out there!

I have just bought a HP Pavillion for my daughter to take to University
tomorrow, and we are having a major problem

When it goes into standby (eg by closing the lid) I cant get it to come out
of standby-only by depressing the On/off switch until it powers down

Anyone can help?

Under the power set up (right click on desktop-properties-screen
saver-power) you then set the mode as to what action you want to take
when the laptop is closed/open) I leave my system to stay connected.
if I use the hibernation I have to hold the power key button for a few
seconds in order for it to resume.

You have let it go on to sleep.
then push the down arrow
this should wake it up.

my experience is that once it begins going to stand-by, that i'm not able to stop that process.

so remember press down arrow when it gets yhere.
