I'm going to go out on a limb and guess this is for killing tough
armies, like Space Marines?

I like the inclusion of plasma, and the way your Tacticals are set up.
Having mobile Tactical squads is a good thing, and one or two small
squads with heavy weapons is better than trying to mix them into your
main squad. Mobility is key in 40K4.

I'm not so sure about the size of your Terminator Command Squad. I
think it would be better split into two squads (one being a regular
Terminator squad) and then bring them in separate. This gives you
more tactical flexibility, and also doesn't have all of your
Terminators piled in one area waiting for a Demolisher cannon to hit
them. Remember, they can't move at all on the turn they come in, so
if there's a threat and you don't kill it right off the bat, you're in
a lot of trouble with all those points tied up in one place.

The Assault Squad looks good, with the inclusion of PP's. Try running
them with the Bikes in a kind of flank attack. If you do it
carefully, you can bring them around on one flank, then teleport your
Terminators in on another (or walk them up the other flank), and give
your opponent two strong forces to worry about.

The Librarian is a great character. But think about using Fear of the
Dark once in a while. If you teleport into the midst of an opposing
army, especially one such as Imperial Guard who have low Ld, you could
force a lot of troops to start running.

It's an interesting list, but I wouldn't suggest using it in a
tournament setting. Aside from the obvious composition points
problems (your opponents would kill you in that area), it also has too
few models. You have 42 models. The last RTT I participated in, the
best Marine armies had close to 70 (none of them being vehicles,
either). Sure, Terminators are Bikes are tough. But some big mobs of
Orks will rip apart the Terminators, as will power weapon wielding
units like Black Templars and Space Wolves. The Bikes could fall prey
to massed light fire, and the Whirlwind is one a lightly armored
vehicle. You have to be careful and use terrain to protect your
troops, because that army is very vulnerable.

Next time you post an army list, try the summary report feature in AB.
Save an army summary (or report, can't remember what it's called) in
AB as a text file, then copy that to the newsreader. It's a lot
cleaner and easier to read.

Cheers, I should have mentioned I am fighting Chaos marines, the
whirlwind is actually a new model I just got and thought I would try
out, although I think it would be much better against orks where you can
kill half a mob in one shot.

Hey, trying out a new model is always good. Go for it. For some
reason, my Whirlwind always draws fire quicker than my Vindicator. Go
fig.

Probably because it is easier to kill and can cover most of the table if
positioned correctly.

But it's nowhere near as nasty as a S10 Ordnance blast!

An S10 Ordnance blast that only has a 24" range and needs line of sight.

Did I miss something? Where does it note that a whirlwind doesn't need
line of sight?

True, but the local shops have 6x4 tables, so positioned well it
covers most of the table, and can start pounding the opposing army
from the first turn. Good stuff!
