Transplant a commercial desktop into a new ATX case?

I have found it less expensive to buy a refurbished mid-range desktop than to build from from scratch. However, commercial systems (HP Pavillion Elite, etc) seem to have few hard drive bays.

Do these commercial systems have standard ATX motherboards that I can just transplant into a new ATX tower case to create more space?

They are standard ATX or MATX motherboards.... if you buy a new case you will need the screws since commercial cases are designed to fit the ATX without needed more pieces. I personally have transplanted one to a media case.

A downfall is that the commercial motherboards will have their bios onboard.
