Hey all,

Today my gateway FPD2185W died. I had it for a few years and all of a sudden it died overnight. My gf's 19" gateway died a year after we bought it out of no where (literally days after the warranty ran out). Consequently I'm not interested in getting another gateway monitor anytime soon.

I work from home and need a good monitor to both play on (fairly hardcore gamer) and code on (web developer). I also appreciate hardware quality so I'm willing to go for a smaller but better monitor.

The lowest I want to go is 19" (any smaller and I lose some convenient screen real estate for working). The highest I want to spend is $200 (ideally lower). I want a low response time (2-5ms), nice picture, and LCD.

I've got my sights on 3 monitors:

ASUS $149 22" http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824236050

ACER $159 22" http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824009145

LG $159 19" http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824005110

I'm stuck though - 19"+ is all I need for my work. So it comes down to gaming... which of these are going to be best for gaming? I've got a geforce 260. I want a 19"+ monitor that gives me the best picture possible under $200.

So, anyone have some advice for what to buy? I'm open to suggestions if the monitors I'm looking at aren't my best options :D

*edit* sheesh, no replies in 24 hours? Oh well, no need to reply now, I needed to order by tonight so I went with the ASUS. It actually came down to the ASUS vs a NEC for $189 and I decided to go with the ASUS for the cheaper price. I wanna move up to a 120hz monitor at some point in the next few years anyway so no need to spend extra at this point...
