Replacing my mouse for a Wacom Tablet

Hi ppl, im a programmer.

my work requires of several hours using the mouse and keyboard...

and well im starting to surfer from wrist pain the mouse its killing my hand... the keyboard doesnt even harm half as my mouse does.

lately when making a medical application with huge tons of controls my problem became a priority for me and im starting to seach alternatives for the mouse.

my question its... whould this tablet totaly replace my mouse?.. i use to play online oftem too, but im not planing to play with tablet i would still usemouse for that.

but in general would i use the table to control and manipulate the windows with a tablet just like with the mouse?.
