Headset is wack

So I just got this cheap as headset ordered (like $8) anyways they sent me some usb headset with 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound or w/e which I looked up and it costs around $50 so I thought hell I'll keep this instead. Now the first problem hit me right away with speakers volume, if you flick it up just 1notch it sounds like most would be about 40% up, click it up 3-5more and your head will explode. I figured out a solution for this one by just turning the equalizer setting all the way down. Now the microphone has pretty much the exact opposite as I can barely hear anything from it. So I'm sitting here with volume on 5% booming at me and my microphone cranked to 100% quiet as a whisper. Any ideas? Thank you.
