my cd burner has gone missing. i opened up my windows media player and went to add songs to burn and it says connect burner and restart the player


someone help meeee!!!!

1) Check whether the drive can still read CDs
2) Check Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager to see if Windows recognises the device.
3) Open the case (of Desktop Computer) and check that the cables to the drive are still in place. For Laptop with removable CD module, check that this is firmly in place.
