hey everybody , i was asking

im tending to buy a new laptop which fits my usage which

Music Production (needs CPU and RAM ) , Little bit of gaming like Assassin's creed and PES (not asking for the highest quality i just wanna play) , Software , Warez , ...... like that , and of course study (im a undergraduate pharmacist)

so , i was choosing

Acer Aspire 5738G cuz it got lotta good stuff , my friends say acer sucks but why? or what's the problem ? is it just a public opinion ?

CPU : Intel Centrino2 Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz 2MB Cache
3 GB RAM DDR2
HDD 320GB
DVD RW
GFX is good but don't remember the type specifically , basically you can google it

15.6" WXGA
LAN , Wi-Fi , Bluetooth
Battery 6 Cell
Camera 1.3 MP
Windows VISTA


now is that good ? for me ?
or is the acer generally bad ?

Not high at all , i will work at 1024x768 dunno how is it on Widescreen but don't mind it

 

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

 

both but more of a desktop replacement

 

5_How much battery life do you need?

 

2 hours or more of hard using like gaming

 

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

 

assassin's creed , PES , bully , NFS , GTA IV , ..... so many others
not the highest quality , just the lowest , i just wanna play the game

 

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing,watching movies, Etc.)

 

Music producing , watching movies , ..... music listening .....

 

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?

 

don mind it , a 250 GB would be just fine cuz i got a 1 TB external and has about half of it free

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?

 

life long :D i dont want troubles and problems anytime

11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?

so is my acer aspire 5738g fulfilling my needs ? cuz if so i will buy it next week

The Aspire would be good but it has a 4500MHD it can handle PES,Bully fine on low settings,but for AC and NFS,it won't perform well,here is a good link:

With that budget its almost impossible to find a laptop which has a card better than 4500.

Sorry i thought its 5738Z which has 4500MHD,well about G105M,its a low end card but better than 4500MHD:

You can play good at low setting and low resolution with it
