Which DVD-R media is the best? I use Ridata 8X currently with my Pioneer DVR-108. What does everyone else use?

I vote for the cheapest supported by your drive.
I use Imation R/W DVD discs which work fine on my Plextor 712

In my opinion the darker the back the better it burns. I like philips and tdk personally as they are the darkest i've found.

Yea, I like the Ridata 8x also. I haven't had any problems with them and they burn quickly. I don't recall having any read errors with them.

I am sure that peepel that buy TDK from Costco (as me is) will not put their votes anywhere on the net caz they are busy doing their stuffs (you know those peepel, working class, not gicks like you are all here have nothing else to do but blahbling about hardware). So there is no such thing as BEST media, it is all matter of preference, or availablility, or suitability, or best of all PRICE. Me buys stuff from whatever place I happen to be at at the moment and my need tells me get it, caz I'll need it.

I've used TDK mostly, caz they are always there, mid priced, never had one fail on me (still playing CDs burned with Plextor 2x for $259.99)

..this is very useful and helpful place for information...
