TV Recording Software question aka (MCE Replacement software)

Hello good people of Toms Hardware forums!

I am embarrassed to say that this is my very first post, tho I have been an avid reader for many years.

I have recently built a new HTPC and I am looking for some software that will act as a replacement for Windows Media Center. I find the software that comes with the tuner card cumbersome and buggy and would like something nicer.

Can you guys list off some other software programs for me that function in a similar manner?

I would like the software to be able to tune channels, record via a program guide and play back.
