Screensaver and display powersaving issue ...

Hi,

I run Win XP Pro SP2. Recently i have reinstalled my OS and since i have
some minor problems with my configuration but irritating ones : the
screensaver (default one) does not activate as long as i do not set the start
delay to 1 min (the minimum); if i set this parameter to 2 min the
screensaver won't come up !!! Then when the screensaver is started (1 min
delay), the monitor does not powersave and even less does not turn off while
powersaving parameters are correctly configured !!! The software
configuration of my machine is strictly identical to the previous one !!!
(when i was not having this type of issue)
