I have brought a ext. HDD enclosure and placed an old seagate drive (6.4GB) in it. Whenever i start windows (XP SP1) i have to mess with this USB device because Xp seems to be unable to detect the drive in it.
Here is the situation :
Whenever i boot up the ext. HDD windows recognize the usb mass storage and sometimes the seagate drive but sometimes only as disk with no driver installed. So i went to update the driver only to find that there's no newer driver than the current one. Alright, then i rebooted the HDD only to see the same issue. The weird stuff is when i play with the setting long enough windows automatically identified the drive AND THE PARTITION (i used FAT32 on that drive). I would see drive letter appear in my computer no matter i reboot the HDD only or the hold computer until i shut the machine down.
I have tried to boot the system in all manner : boot the HDD first than windows, windows first HDD later .... but the same problem still comes up.
Please help. Maybe i did my installation wrong as ive just moved to Xp. Thank anyway.
