monitor powersave

Anyone have any idea as to why I can't get my monitors to stay in powersaving
mode, they'll dip into it after the appropriate time but they won't stay on
standby. I've shutdown all the tasks that I can find that might ping the
processor, expertool, incd, itellimouse, messenger, to name but a few and
nothing seems to have made any difference.

6600GT using 77.72 drivers
2x 17in CRT running through dvi Adaptors (it used to work when 1 was through
an adaptor and 1 wasn't)
Win Xp fully updated.

Help much appreciated.
