Sorry to keep bugging people for modelling hints this weekend, but the FLGS
has a large bitz order about to go out, and I need to get my order complete
by Monday morning. This might be really obvious, but I wanted to check
before I wasted my money - does the old metal DA dread body you can order
from the "classic" section just fit right in with the current dread plastic
kit? If it requires a bit of hack&cut, how involved a conversion is it? A
DA dreadnaught is a long way off for me, but I thought since I'm ordering a
ton of other bitz right now anyway I could throw one of these in there and
store it away for later. Based on the sprue pictures in the GW phonebook it
seems like it ought to, but I've been wrong on this stuff before.

Thanks in advance,

Well, I can see one potential problem - weight. The metal dreads
weigh a ton compaired to the plastic ones (which is why I'm going for
the plastics). I can see where the weight of the metal upper body
might well be to much for the thin plastic legs of the new dreads.
I've got an older metal Ultras dread I'd be more than willing to part
with if you want - then you could order bits/arms etc as needed.

#1582. I think they call it Warhammer "40K" because that is how
much you are going to have to make per year in order to play.

I'm definitely interested! Let me know what parts it comes with and how much
you want for it, either here or via e-mail if you'd prefer, at (in case you
don't have my address anymore):

Thanks!

Heh! Sorry about the delay. No I haven't lost your address, I've
just been really damn busy this weekend. There's a number of trees on
our property (along with the ungodly number of animals we have) and
several of them decided to go crashing down during the last strong winds
we had. Unfortunately 2 of them were on/in the drainage creek along the
front of our property - so I got to buy a new chain saw and have at it.
Removed 3 dead trees, took down 2 or 3 more and have like 4 or 5 total
left to saw up into fodder for our out-door fire pit. Weee. (I feel
like Ash from 'Army of Darkness' - HAIL TO THE KING, BABY!) I also
worked on some Nids for a friend of mine, as well as another magnetic
dreadnought conversion - this time with pictures that should help
explain the process easily for that 'how to' article I promised Rob
Singers ages ago. In other words, I've been busier than a one legged
man in a butt-kicking contest. (So I'll try to get the teleport homer
pics, dread description, and other stuff off to you either Monday or
Tuesday night. Still a ton of stuff left to do tonight.)

It should. When the plastic kit first came out, I measured it against
my metal Dread. If it's off, it's off by very, very small amounts.
