Downloading movies to external hard drive

Hello,
I am seeking for your help on how to download free movie online to my external hard drive (500gb). I'm a movie keener and I like to watch online movies. I have tried before downloading a movie to watch over my laptop but a warning was shown on the screen that if I did so it would bring harm to my laptop.So please help on how to download it or them to my laptop so that I ccan watch it or them without problem(s)

there are a few programs out there that will screen grab what your watching ie you tube or flash.. the good ones are paid programs..the problem is the size of the video file. it may be very large. a standard dvd is 4-8g in size. you could get a 200 or 300g file before you could shrink it. most people with paid dvd use a ripper program and then take the unlocked vob files and shrink it to a 700-800m avi file.

Everyone has got their favorite movies but only a few like lifetime movies like Titanic. Even today people like this movie and love to watch. I think I have seen this movie around 20 times since it was first released.
