Web cam for Road Trip Time Lapse

Hey hey, I've been lookin around and decided to throw up this question here and see what kind of suggestions I get.

I'm looking for a webcam that is pretty decent quality and can handle taking snapshots every quarter second. I'm using a Dell Mini 9 and dumping the frames directly to a SD Card. I currently have a Quickcam Fusion which I used on a trip in 2007 and it worked ok. If the sun was in my frontal 100 degree arc it kind of washed things out.

So I'm thinking someone might have some knowledge of some cameras that might be able to handle this, one of the important things is the ability to freeze motion, I like to refer to road signs in the frames to determine where I am.
