Will someone please help me with this very very frustrating problem.

The sound keeps going up and down by itself. It goes from loud to nothing and stays at nothing untill i turn up the dial just a hair then its real loud again and goes right back to nothing.

I've tried updating the drivers by ujsing the creative automatic feature on thier website, but it still does it.

It does it whether im playing a game or watching a dvd or whatever.

Comp specs:
Asus k8v deluxe
AMD 64 3200+
SB Audigy 2
1 gig corsair
9800 pro 256

This crap is very frustrating, im tired of reaching for the volume control

Please help!!

Thats on the front panel? Make sure the power and data connections are plugged in securly. It is most likely a hardware issue on the front panel than a software problem. If the volume control in windows was going down, that would be a software problem.
