My Dell Ispiron E1705 touch pad is not working help!

I have a bamboo pen and tablet and I use this a lot with Photo shop (more than a year) and recently my laptops touch-pad will not work unless I use super pressure or only use my pen to move my cursor. Also my pen freaks out too! It's ok for me but my family needs to use the computer to and I rather they use the touch pad like the laptop's touch pad is to be used for! also I restarted 23456789times and looked up this issue on Dell Support...some support. Please help!
