Ok... so I'm sitting with 2 'Nid army deals here..... I've decided the fast
paint black as the main scheme but I'm interested in your thoughts on the
colour or patters of the carapaces.

I thought about a Magenta and tourquoise mottle on black and then high
glossing on the carapace.....

More about : nid colour scheme

ROFLMAO! I painted 96 Hormogaunts. Then one time, I counted up the
amount of armor scutes on one, and multiplied it by each of the four
shade I painted it; Bestial Brown, Bubionic Brown, Bleached Bone and
Bleached Bone + Skull White.

Time well spent...

Wash and clean the model like normal, glue it to the base, and glue
sand to the base. Prime it black and give it a few drybrush coats of
Chaos Black mixed with increasing amounts of Codex Grey, Shadow Grey or
Midnight/Regal Blue. Dob't worry about being too neat, it doesn't
matter much. Then add gloss red to the armor scutes, or use a Red Gore/
Blood Red mix. It's the easiest color scheme around.

I am going for shafow grey with undetermined armor scutes. I know I'm
tired of red though...
