Hard drive

i have a accer 5520 with vista os is there anyway i could put the vista in my hp pavilon xp have tryed to put the harddrive of my acer into the hp but now it thinks its my laptop please help thanks .ps sorry for my spelling.

it looks like your hp is booting off the hdd from your laptop make sure you go into your bio's and boot from the hdd in your hp if that's what your trying to do
