Hey guys, I am looking for a good multimedia notebook as my old one just died ;(

1_What is your budget?

from $800 aud to +/- $2000 AUD

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

17"

3_What screen resolution do you want?

The higher the better, full HD would be awesome :)

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

Not Important.

5_How much battery life do you need?

Not Important.

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

Yup, Any Source engine game on high (don't care about AA) and should be able to play some of the newer games at atleast med settings.
Would prefer a nvidia 130m gpu or better.

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, watching movies, Etc.)

Should run any Adobe cs4 master suite program fluently.

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?

min. 250gb.

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post the links to them.

not really, as long as it is in australia, unless someone has experience with importing from a different country and can tell me how it works with customs etc.

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?

A few years, not really important though.

11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?

min. Dvd writer, anything better is just extra.

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

Don't care about brands.

13_What country do you live in?

Australia

14_Please tell us any additional information if needed.

I love chicken... is that really important? ;)
In any case the laptop will 99/100 be used at a desk with a powerpoint present.
So battery life is not really an issue.
I would however like it to have a plain look, so I would prefer if it did not have any wild colours or badges.
However if there is no way around that, then so be it.
I also would not mind if it is a second hand notebook as long as I can see it before I buy it.
I live in North Sydney, so anywhere close to that would be perfect.

I appreciate any help I can get,
Cheers,
Erik.
