Hi.
I just got a new 160gb Samsung IDE HD and plugged it without any problem. BIOS recognize the drive as well. BUT 34GB instead of ~140.
And when I come to Windows XP, in the devices list, I can see the HD but in "My Computer" not. Only my old C/D partioned local drives and 2 DVD-Roms.
What can be the problem?

Have you created partition on the new hard drive?

If not, go to control panel > administrative tools > computer management > disk management

The new hard drive should be listed there....... right click on the hard drive and format it. If you are going to ghost onto the hdd, don't assign a letter. If it is being used as an additional hdd, then give it a letter of ur choice.

Hope this helps.
