I'm considering using dynamic disks to create spanned volumes across multiple physical drives on a server for storing media files.

What I want to know is if one physical drive dies, do I lose all the data on the spanned volume, or just the data that was on that physical drive? I assume that it's just the data on the physical drive that will die, but I'd like to be sure before trying it ;)

I agree with khha4113. Athough Im not saying this from experience, but im assuming partion information would either be lost or made redundant were a drive lost.

Ok, I'll find an alternative then; don't have time to try it out at the moment unfortunately.
