Hey guys,
I'm looking at a RAM option to go 2x1G, would you give me opinions on these?(best bang for least$) This is an A8N SLI nforce4 MB:
I'm looking at: <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146841 " target="_new"> these </A>

or <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146970" target="_new"> these </A>

or
<A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227210" target="_new"> these </A>
maybe
<A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145486" target="_new"> these </A>

Of course, any other suggestions would help. Not looking to OC,just throw em in 'n run. Trying to keep it as far below $300 or even $250.
All open to suggestion. Thx in advance.

I'd go with the OCZ Value ($208) or Performance ($235), probably the performance.

The bump to the Platinum for $270 not worth it then?

I'm not 100% that the jump to performance is worth it. It's all too easy to say for a few dollars more I can get the next best shiny whatchamacallit. If you were wiling to go in and tweak timing I'd stay with the OCZ Value.

Yeah, that's just not something I've delved into before. Is it just BIOS setting like CPU voltage 'n multiplier? Or does it require somehting a little more complex?

Wow man,
I just noticed something else. My corsair twinx 2x512 are running at 2.2.2.5. Am I going to be loosing performance by switching to the 2x1024 OCZ's?? And, could I use the 2x512 Corsair and the 2x1024 OCZ together for 3GB or will that cause issues? I just haven't really messed with any RAM upgrades since prolly on my old P3 with PC133 or something lame like that.

If you're running 1GB of TwinX, then why do you need the ugrade to 2GB?

Battlefield2 mostly :D
Just trying to squeeze out as many fps as possible.
Other than that, I just want to know the possibilities and performance issues. Is it true 4x512 will only run at 333??
And if so, that leads me back to my last question of running the 2x512 AND 2x1GB for 3.

No,I was looking at one of Alien's sli config's (Aurora 7500)and they give you the choice of 2x512 low latency at 400 or 4x512 low latency at 333. Now last I heard their board is basically the A8n sli like mine. So, I'm wondering why they only offer the 333 option for 2gb of ram? That's the origin of the 333 speed for PC3200 at more than 2x512. With them being a "high end gaming" system builder, you'd think they'd at least give the option if you could run up to 4G dual at 400. Not needed by most but why not offer it if it's capable?

So, is this just a drawback on the integrated controller or something else entirely? And, if you could run 2 x 1024 dual channel mem at 400, why only offer the one solution? Do they maybe just have an overabundance of 512 Corsairs hanging around the factory and want to get rid of them? Just trying to get the right info.
