will pc 2700 work with my pc3200?

1st slot of my my mobo, and would like to add a stick of kbyte pc2700 memor 256mb, for testing purposes. does it matter on which stick goes in what slot of my computer?? IM running a giabyte kan something socket 754 board and cpu to. thanks guys.

You need to list better system specs for a definitive answer.

The PC2700 should operate in your system, but ALL systme memory will be run at the same speed, so memory will be defaulted to the PC2700 speed/timings.

sorry, for some reason its cut off the first part of my message. right now in the first slot i have a stick of pc3200 512mb ram crusial value ram. the board is a gigabyte K8 triton series-GA-K8NS socket 754 board. ANd im running a radeon 9800pro , hopefully that'll help.
